Ministry is a JOURNEY! Pt. 2

2 Tim. 1:12,  For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.  NKJV

It is so easy as a GREAT LEADER to be tempted to get caught up in “MOMENTS”.  Moments are important, but when we live in moments we take our eyes off the journey.

The great successes in the Word of God walked the journey, not just the moments.

It was not just a journey for the men of the Old Testament, but also for the New Testament!

Paul

Acts 9 – He was fighting against Jesus, then he meets Jesus.  For 3 years he was in the desert being trained by Jesus.  When he was released into ministry he went on 3 missionary journeys.

2 Cor 11:24:29, Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. ²⁵ Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. ²⁶ I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not. ²⁷ I have worked hard and long, enduring many sleepless nights. I have been hungry and thirsty and have often gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm. ²⁸ Then, besides all this, I have the daily burden of my concern for all the churches. ²⁹ Who is weak without my feeling that weakness? Who is led astray, and I do not burn with anger? NLT

It is the journey – not just the moments!

Jesus

Rev. 13:8 – Jesus is the Lamb slain before the foundations of the earth.  Before His journey ever began on this earth to redeem us, it had already begun before the foundations of the world.

He was born a virgin.

He died on the cross – It is finished.

He defeats the devil, sits at the right hand, sends the Spirit.

He had been rejected by his family, friends, nation, Father!

In Matt. 28:18-20 Jesus passes the baton – NEVER GAVE UP!

IT IS THE JOURNEY – DON’T LOSE SIGHT OF THE VISION – DON’T YOU EVER GIVE UP!!
